Ontario Ministry of Health is in consultation with the transgender community.

Government of Alberta is to delist SRS from its Healthcare System.  This will save them a whopping $700,000 per year in healthcare costs.  Oddly enough though they managed a 25% pay increase for themselves just months ago.

Trans Pulse Project - This is an Ontario based federally funded research study into transgender health and all the affecting issues.  It is the largest of its kind.  Click on the link for more information about the project.

LGBT Candidates Win Election Bids - Nov. 6, 2008.  In contrast to the California Proposition 8, a high proportion of "out" candidates won their election bids in the US elections.

California Proposition 8 Passes - Nov. 5, 2008.  Proposition 8 outlaws homosexual marriage in California.  This is a serious setback for Human Rights across the United States and its implications in Canada are no less serious under the socially conservative government of Stephen Harper.
